The Key Messages from our Mission Statement are:

• Our key challenge is to improve systems projects, since these are the projects where significantly better utilisation of resources will have major paybacks to mankind as a whole.

• A key element of effective undertaking of system projects is effective project management.  In ensuring systems projects are effectively managed we are providing much of the knowledge, experience, common sense, and wisdom necessary to undertake project management more generally.

• We are interested in any and all means for improving systems projects and project management.  The development of The Systems/Project Engineering/Management Handbook is only a first step.

• The means provided must be practical and useful.  There application must lead to improvements, not just to new buzz words.

• We are concerned with sharing knowledge.  This is both factual information and interpretations of this information.

• We are concerned with sharing experiences. This includes building a comprehensive database of Case Studies, but is also about bringing people in contact with each other in a manner that allows experiences to be made best use of.

• We are concerned with common sense.  Much of the problems associated with projects is that for various reasons they are not conducive to the structured application of common sense.  We aim to change this.

• We are concerned with wisdom. This is particularly about bringing together knowledge and information, together with common sense and experience in order to arrive at a balanced approach.
